Blink: The Power of Thinking Without Thinking
These notes are old and were written while reading — they don’t necessarily reflect my current views.
I don’t really like this book. It’s full of anecdotes and has very little actual research behind it. It goes strongly into the direction of the system 1 system 2 dichotomy of Kahneman Tversky, but is less fleshed out. The main message can be summarised as: Trust your instinct they are often right. Also: the more you try to explain them the worse they get. It’s a simple and powerful idea, but one that doesn’t need a book of this size.
