These notes are old and were written while reading — they don’t necessarily reflect my current views.

Continuing the similarities to Plato’s Republic, the word Philosopher King is used. Other than that, I find it highly interesting how he uses moral ambiguity in order to make the story compelling. The action scenes are compelling but a little less frequent than in the first book. Nice philosophical actions raised include if killing people for a greater cause is acceptable and how imperative honesty should be. The ending is done rather spectacularly.
