The Schopenhauer Cure

It’s a great book! Makes me want to read Schopi. Philipp is an awesome character and the setting of the therapy group enables Yalom to go deep into the complexities of all the characters. It seems clear that Philipp admires and identifies with the person as well as the philosophy of Schopenhauer. He becomes Schopenhauer in many regards. This is a normal process to copy your idols. In this case its rather extreme which is caused by Philip’s sex addiction. He is unhappy with his life and detests this side of him. He feels like Schopenhauer understands him as he was similar.
