Waking Up: A Guide to Spirituality Without Religion

These notes are old and were written while reading — they don’t necessarily reflect my current views.

Harris advocates for spirituality without religion and argues that spirituality is central to the human experience and spiritual feelings can be felt by humans which makes them epistimologically at least as valid as science which can be observed. Religion gives paths towards spirituality but is harmful in itself. Some religions are worse than others (with the eastern ones being less prone to wild supersticions.

Joscha Bach would say: Consciousness does not really exists but is just the best model of relality.
